Shared Services Technical Assistance
In February 2009, Governor Gregoire issued Directive 09-02 to Cabinet agencies to develop and implement a shared services model for delivering the following “back office” functions:
- Information Technology (IT)
- Fleet Management
- Property Management
- Human Resources
Implementation of this directive is being led by the Governor’s Executive Policy Director and the agency directors with primary responsibility for the above functions.
State Auditor’s work
In addition to her directive to agencies, Governor Gregoire asked the State Auditor for specific technical assistance to supplement the IT and Property Management work already underway.
- Letter from Governor to establish Information Technology baselines.
- Letter from Governor to analyze current Property Management processes.
How agencies will be involved
The State Auditor is contracting out for expertise to accomplish the work requested by the Governor. Certain agencies will be asked to provide existing information to the contractor and audit staff to help complete the objectives of the technical assistance requests. See the links to the Auditor’s “one pagers” below to find the agencies involved in the studies. The final product will be a report to the Governor.
