	Council of State Governments Governance Transformation Award In 2008, the Council of State Governments recognized GMAP with the inaugural Governance Transformation Award. Dedicated to the memory of Dr. Keon Chi, the award is given to a state program that comprehensively enhances a state’s capacity to govern effectively in the 21st century.
	Finalist in Innovations in American Government Awards competition at Harvard’s Kennedy School The Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard Kennedy School announced GMAP as one of their Top 50 Programs of the 2008 Innovations in American Government Awards competition. Selected from a pool of nearly 1,000 applicants, these programs represent the best in government innovation.
	“A-” rating – a tie for top honors with two others states from Grading the States: A Management Report Card In the 2008 Grading the States: A Management Report Card from Governing magazine, Washington earned an “A-”, the highest grade given. “Bottom line: No state in the nation is better at developing and sharing information than Washington.”
