What is SharePoint?
SharePoint is an off-the-shelf Microsoft product. It provides a single, integrated location where employees can collaborate with team members. DIS currently hosts SharePoint and provides SharePoint services to state agencies. All that an agency needs to use it is an Internet browser.
Many state agencies already use SharePoint for team collaboration and as a tool to support projects.
Why are we using RecoveryShare?
RecoveryShare is a new SharePoint website that the Governor’s Recovery Team will use to manage American Reinvestment & Recover Act (ARRA)-related efforts. There are two primary reasons for RecoveryShare:
- It allows the Governor’s recovery team coordinator to apply project management discipline to the state’s recovery efforts. RecoveryShare can track assigned tasks, issues, and deliverables across agencies and teams.
- It provides a secure, central online location for Recovery Team members and agencies to collect and share project documents. One benefit of RecoveryShare is that final guidance issued to agencies will be posted in one, easy-to-find place, therefore eliminating version control problems.
Who can use it?
State agency recovery team members.
