What is SharePoint?
SharePoint is an off-the-shelf Microsoft product. It provides a single, integrated location where employees can collaborate with team members. DIS currently hosts SharePoint and provides SharePoint services to state agencies. All that an agency needs to use it is an Internet browser.
Many state agencies already use SharePoint for team collaboration and as a tool to support projects.
Why are we using DeputyShare?
DeputyShare is a new SharePoint website that provides a central, interactive online location for managing and coordinating Deputy Director monthly meetings.
Who can use it?
Deputy directors and their designees (i.e. support staff).
How do you access DeputyShare?
To access the website, follow these steps:
- Obtain and/or verify that you have the appropriate Microsoft license. Learn more...
- Verify if you require a Secure Access Washington login and password. Learn more...
- Complete the Terms of Use form.
- Email your signed Terms of Use form to DeputyShare@gov.wa.gov.
- Once you have completed these steps, you should receive an email from SharePoint confirming your access to DeputyShare within 24 hours.
Do you have to log in every time you open the DeputyShare website?
No. To fix this, follow these simple instructions.
- Open the DeputyShare link in Internet Explorer.
- Log into the site using your login name and password.
- Go to Tools.
- Select Internet Options.
- Go to Security tab.
- Select Trusted Sites.
- Uncheck the “require server verification” box.
- Add the DeputyShare link and select Add.
- Select OK.
- Close all Internet Explorer windows (i.e. Quit).
- Re-open Internet Explorer and select the DeputyShare link.
